Tay Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do: Bop or Flop?

Coming out of her recent musical hiatus, Taylor Swift just released her newest single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” (Btw the cover is stunning.)

Taylor Swift is known for her iconic breakup bops, and LWYMMD is no exception. I have a feeling that her upcoming album, Reputation, will have as much shade thrown in there as her previous albums, if not more.

Initially, upon hearing the song, I thought I clicked on a Lana Del Rey song, then it kinda had a Selena Gomez talk-singing vibe with a techno beat??? Honestly, it just doesn’t sound like the Taylor I used to know and love. Maybe this is why…

“I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now.”
“Oh, ’cause she’s dead!”

Well, that sucks.

For me, Taylor Swift peaked in 2009 with her Fearless Deluxe Edition album. Her following albums like Red, Speak Now and 1989 had a few bops but nothing comparable to OG “Our Song” and “Love Story” Taylor.

Despite all controversy, half the female population will have these lyrics as a caption to their next Insta selfie.

Maybe if this was her first single I would call it a Bop, but I know old Taylor’s music too well to do that. Sorry Tay, “Look What You Made Me Do,” is a FLOP.

All hate aside, I will most likely have the lyrics memorized by tomorrow.
